The greatest entrepreneurship reality tv show
In January, I had the honor to participate in The Blox. The Blox is the greatest show on entrepreneurship. It is a live-in reality television show. This week long experience was hosted at the Osage Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was on the show with 80 other businesses trying to prove that they are the best on The Blox.
How did I learn about The Blox?
How did I even come across this opportunity? It all started from a Facebook ad. I don't often click on Facebook ads, but it was spring 2023 and I was taking a break from the wedding mayhem. I was scrolling on Facebook when I saw an ad that said Entrepreneur? TV show Casting! So of course I clicked. The first step was just submitting a few details. Then weeks after weeks, I got interviews, questionnaires, phone interview, and each round they were eliminating half of the applicants and I made it to the end!
Getting onsite
The days leading up to the trip had my nerves high. I received a one page travel information sheet with the hotel name, the airport to fly into, and where to find the shuttle when I land. That was it. Was it a scam? Was I going to end up on Dateline? What was I getting into? But also what did I possibly have to lose? This opportunity would not ever happen again. So I headed to the airport and boarded a plane. Still uncertain. But all my nerves finally subside when I finally heard someone behind me talking to their seat neighbor about the trip they were going on, a reality tv show about entrepreneurship, called The Blox. He also sounded uncertain, but as soon as I heard that I turned around and said me too! Then I just knew that this had to be legit. The flight was not smooth, we flew through the winter storm over the Midwest, in January. It was rough. But we landed and headed to the shuttle to head to the hotel.
The experience
The set was more than I was expecting from the Facebook ad. There were cameras everywhere, lights, effects, successful business owners, and of course host, Wes Bergmann. The experience was so surreal. The learning and application into business is ongoing. I could tell you more but watching it would be better.
